ROYAL RIVIERA: PARADISE IN SAINT-JEAN-CAP-FERRAT | 1 Jour 1 Doc | M6

Nicknamed “the billionaires’ peninsula,” Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat lies on the French Riviera, between Nice and Monaco. This lush stretch of just 2.5 square kilometers on the Mediterranean is home to more than 500 luxury villas and a collection of high-end hotels — including the Royal Riviera.
A five-star hotel with a pastel pink Belle Époque façade, just under 100 rooms, two restaurants, and a private beach.
Owned by a wealthy Indian investor with more than 700 hotels worldwide, the establishment is now rising from the ashes under the leadership of its unconventional director, Bruno Mercadal — who doesn’t hesitate to keep his 120 seasonal employees firmly in line.
Competition is fierce: around sixty prestigious establishments are scattered between Monaco and Saint-Tropez.
And in the luxury world, losing one client doesn’t mean gaining ten more.
Fortunately, Mercadal can rely on his chef, Geoffroy Szamburski, who is ready to travel miles across the Italian border to select the finest fruits and vegetables, or wake at dawn to secure the best fish from the region’s top suppliers.
Alongside Lucas, his pastry chef — one of the rising stars in his field — they must combine creativity and excellence to compete with the finest tables on the Riviera.
Their challenge? To craft the new spring menu, which must win the approval of the director and leading figures in haute cuisine.
Meanwhile, Émie, the new housekeeper, just 20 and working as part of a work-study program, must adapt quickly to her new environment — meeting the hotel’s demanding standards and handling last-minute crises, which are inevitable in a place like this.
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat — a timeless haven of charm, a world entirely of its own.
