REAL ESTATE: EXTREME CLEAN-OUT SPECIALISTS | 1 Jour 1 Doc | M6

Inheritances, relocations, or moves into retirement homes… Across France, more and more people are turning to professional clean-out specialists to turn the page.
Like Françoise, 80, who wants to empty her apartment before selling it and moving peacefully into assisted living.
With no children, clearing out her 87-square-meter home alone is impossible.
The job of these specialists is simple in theory: empty, sort, clean — and sometimes restore value to items that seemed lost forever.
But in reality, up to 90% of household contents end up being thrown away.
That’s why Gaylord, a former waste facility worker who became a clean-out specialist 15 years ago, tries to salvage and repurpose as much as possible using all sorts of tricks.
Over the years, however, he has accumulated countless objects in his own 600-square-meter thrift warehouse — and now plans to open a second one in a shopping mall in downtown Beauvais.
In Vannes, in Brittany, Louis and Aël, a young couple aged 24, have been learning the trade for a year.
They’ve found an unusual way to give new life to unsellable items — plates, appliances, furniture — by opening a rage room.
Dive into the daily lives of these men and women for whom chaos has become a profession.
Between overwhelming inheritances and bold business ventures, they face extraordinary human, material, and emotional situations every day. An immersion into a little-known — yet essential — industry.
