May 31, 2002, France’s Blue soccer team tried to win back their title of world soccer champion and live again the dream of 1998. At that time, in just a month, they became international stars. At their sides, in the shadow, discreet but very present are their wives who participated in their success by supporting them and encouraging them. A few days before the World Cup 2000, we decided to talk to them. Béatrice Trézéguet, Virginie Desailly, Betty Leboeuf, Sophie Djorkaeff agreed to welcome us into their private lives and to tell us with honesty about the daily life, sometimes magical, sometimes difficult, of the women of world champions. They spoke to us of their sacrifices, of jealousy, of being uprooted, of moves, of a loss of identity, of troubled family life, of total devotion to their husbands.
