The Bobigny courts: at the heart of criminal investigation | M6 | Zone Interdite

As the second court in France, the Bobigny court has to deal with 220,000 cases per year. It’s he biggest court in France dealing with minors and, above all, it’s the only court that has set up a special division, the D.A.C.R.I.D.O. to combat organised crime and criminal cases. There are seven deputy public prosecutors who take turns, week by week, to assure a 24/24 service. For years Public Prosecutor François Molins has set out to improve the efficiency of this very particular division.Last year, these young magistrates?average age 29?had to deal with around sixty homicides and murders, mostly committed at night, in certain explosive housing projects in Seine Saint-Denis. This department, which has earned the reputation in the media of being the most violent in France”, has more importantly become the crossroads for drug trafficking run by organised gangs controlling territories that the police refer to as “no-go zones”.When there’s a murder the special SDPJ division of the 93 Département of France, under the authority of the DACRIDO prosecutors, handle the investigation. This documentary sets out to give a “no holds barred” account of the judicial reality in which police and justice are indivisible. For the first time, with the permission of Judge Olivier Géron, a crew was allowed to film the reconstruction of the armed hold-up of a fast-food restautant.”
