Albertville : triple infanticide | M6 | 66 minutes

On 22 August 2007, Albertville, a small town in the Haute-Savoy, is in turmoil. Philippe Viguet Poupelloz, a plumber in the middle of divorce proceedings, came to fetch his things from the house he shared with his partner. He discovered the horror. Two dead babies, placed in plastic bags, hidden in a trunk in the basement. He immediately called the police, who questioned him, with his partner, Virginie, and kept them in police custody. Virginie admitted to being the mother of the children, she even revealed the whereabouts of a third little body. She said that between 2001 and 2006 she went through three pregnancies and gave birth alone, without her husband knowing. She told the investigators that she had kept her three babies in a freezer all those years. How could this young woman of 36 conceal three pregnancies from everybody, especially from her husband? How could she have hidden the dead babies for so long? Did Virginie deliberately kill her children or did she allow them to die? Who is the father? The results of the autopsy should be able to provide answers to these questions.
