QUEENS OF THE ROAD | M6 | 66 minutes

What if the future of truck driving were a female profession? Last year nearly 6% of new heavy-goods vehicle licences were issued to women. We followed these pioneers of the tarmac. Today, they constitute just ten thousand drivers out of two hundred and fifty thousand. Delphine already has two million kilometres on the clock; a driver who specializes in long distance haulage. This is also Cécilia’s dream; she’s a high-school graduate in professional truck driving. And for Frédérique her truck is also her home six days a week. So, she’s fitted it out Rebel pin-up style. Their daily lives are often tough with moments of loneliness. However, there are also highlights, like the Le Mans truckers 24-hour meet, the major celebration amongst the trucker community. Frédérique is going to enter her truck in a beauty contest.
