Hold ups: new delinquents, new victims | M6 | Zone Interdite

According to the Observatoire national de la délinquance (French National Office for statistics on delinquency), armed robbery carried out by minors increased by 38% between 2007 and 2008. Local shops, bakeries, pharmacies, bars/tobacco shops or beauty salons are the favourite targets of the robbers, tempted by the easy money. Delinquents who are getting ever younger: some commit their first criminal acts as early as 12 years old as this investigation shows. We present the portrait of several teenage delinquents, together with contributions from their families and also their victims. They are school dropouts with no training and no jobs. The attraction of easy money has pushed them over the edge. On the other side are the victims, traumatised from having been threatened with guns?even though they may have been fakes?some of whom have been attacked on several occasions.
