Les Halles, in Paris, is both a residential neighbourhood under siege from a new, wealthy and trendy population and a crossroads for the RER urban rail system carrying around a million passengers every day. Friction is growing between those from the suburbs, shoppers, locals and teenagers who come in to have fun.
