For more than 50 years, Marseille has been considered the French capital of drugs. In the aftermath of the Second World War, old-fashioned godfathers, Corsican or Italian, developed drug trafficking by creating the famous French connection. And nowadays, the Phocaean city is more than ever plagued by the drug trade with 150 deal points identified in the city.

We wanted to tell the story of drug trafficking in Marseille through the testimony of traffickers of yesterday and today, and those who chased them, police, magistrates and customs officers.

How has the milieu evolved, from old-fashioned thugs to city kingpins?

Have the rules of this deadly game changed? And how has repression adapted?
