THOMAS COOK: ALL-INCLUSIVE CHAOS | M6 | 66 minutes

600,000 tourists stuck in airports and hotels. They all booked their travel with the giant, Thomas Cook, the doyen of tour operators, founded in 1841. The agent has just gone bankrupt leaving 22,000 staff and thousands of tourists, including 10,000 French, in confusion. Malika and her partner should have been flying out to Mauritius on October 6. She had just paid 3,000 Euros for her trip. “I’m waiting for answers! How and when am I going to be repaid? We planned this trip for two months.” What insurance can be claimed? Meanwhile, in Greece, Julie is at breaking point. She is one of those left stranded by Thomas Cook. On Monday morning she arrived on the Greek island of Corfu with her husband and two-year-old daughter. It was an all-inclusive one-week trip. But when they reach the hotel the staff informs them that they can’t have their room. Since then… The hotel has been in crisis: passports confiscated, no water, no food, no service. A plunge into a crazy week.
