Seventeen years later, Rafael Maillant will again face Yann Bello. Maillant versus Bello, a history of friendship that turned sour. In 1991, Valérie, Raphael Maillant’s girlfriend was killed. Yann Bello accuses his friend Maillant, so effectively that, despite all the latter’s denials, he is found guilty of her murder. Bello was only convicted of receiving her corpse and was quickly released. He lived peacefully until two new facts surfaced: one of Bello’s fellow inmates claimed that Bello confessed in prison. And then Bello also killed his wife, Charlène, in 2011. So he is found guilty of a murder committed in circumstances that are strangely identical to the murder committed 20 years previously.
