In late May two teenage girls in the city of Ajaccio on Corsica, tried to commit suicide by jumping out of their respective high-rises almost simultaneously. The girls, aged 14 and 15, both survived the trauma. Both are in the same year at school and had, apparently, coordinated their attempt to kill themselves. A pact rarely witnessed before in France.Since 2005, infact, only two other similar cases have been recorded. But individual suicide attempts are, sadly, much more frequent. 40,000 youngsters, aged between 15 and 19 have tried to kill themselves in the same period.
