Sao Paulo, the war of the helicopters | TF1 | Reportages
Sao Paulo, immense city of 22 million inhabitants, an urban hell, an ultra-violent city. Here, the rich are very rich, and the poor in misery. And so this city is the theater of an unprecedented wave of murders and kidnappings. A dozen or so people are kidnapped, and twenty people murdered every single day, usually right in the middle of the street. How do the rich escape this hell? By helicopter! Whether it’s a peasant who became a millionaire and who leaves the city every weekend to go see his 13,000 head of cattle, or a nouveau riche who never goes to any business rendezvous by car anymore, or the niece of the richest person in Brazil who goes every weekend to the coast by air, each one has a good reason to fly over the city. Sao Paolo is the city where helicopters are used more than anywhere else in the world.
