Odile Perceau is an expert at the bigger the lie, the easier it is”. Her warhorse: blockbuster concerts. A fantasist and pseudo-composer, she managed to dupe both major groups and celebrities. From Aurélie Filippetti to the manager of Sofitel by way of Valérie Trierwieler… they’ve all fallen for her scam. An investigation into the frauds of a serial liar. Perceau’s early exploits date back to the early 2000s, when she founded the “Khloros Concert” company. Her troupe goes off on tour to the United States where, in 2000-seat halls, the symphonic orchestra attracts an average audience of just forty. Perceau convinces her stunned company that behind these flops is a plot schemed up by a “malicious competitor”. In December 2013, a number of concerts are scheduled for the “Fondamentus” tours of Cambodia and Myanmar. Perceau manages to obtain letters of recommendation from the Ministry of Culture, the Foreign Ministry and even from UNESCO. However, when the Asian circuit is completed, nobody is paid for their services. After months of waiting, some of the victims file suits. Damages amount to 600,000 Euros. In August 2014, Perceau pulls off her greatest coup. She offers Eric Pinard, manager of a distillery, a tasty deal: if he makes his premises available for an extraordinary concert in the presence of top Chinese officials, notably the wife of the President, Perceau will finance the entire cost of the work.
