Life in the caravan | M6 | 66 minutes

RMilo is faced with a recurring problem: he must find a site to house the sixty or so caravans belonging to the group of travelers of which he is the leader. Communities with a population of more than 5000 are required to provide accommodation, but only half respect the law. So Milo often presents mayors with a fait accompli and sets up his encampment without permission, as in May last year when he and his community took over a rugby ground in a small town in the Grenoble area. Once you’ve settled in, how do you organise life in a fly camp? Schooling for the children, selling at the market, police checks… 66 Minutes followed the day-to-day lives of these nomads, said to number over 400,000 on the road and who suffer a very bad reputation in France.
