Jamel Comedy Show | M6 | 66 minutes

There are some fifteen of them, a gang of buddies, “black, white, North African”, guys and gals, who till now have performed at Paris fringe venues. A tough life working on the cheap in bars and tiny café-theaters. Their thing: the one-man show. More and more of them are being talked about, often they come from the “burbs”. The media have slapped an English name on this “phenomenon”, to give it a novel, fashionable aspect. In reality, there’s nothing very new about it, other than their faces: all new, they’re shaking up a stage so far occupied by the Bigards or the Gad Elmalehs. Jamel spotted them a year ago and, today, he’s decided to bring them all together on a major popular stage, the Casino de Paris. Over a month, for the first time in their lives, they will play in front of more than 1,500 people. Who are these new faces in French comedy? And how did they get here?
