Jamaica, beyond the ghetto | France 2 | Envoyé Spécial

Ever since the 1980s, Jamaica has been one of the preferred vacation spots for Americans and Canadians. They stay in gigantic hotels, with “all inclusive” packages and rarely venture outside the enclave. Sometimes they get married there, in ceremonies sold “ready to go”. Of the 3 million annual visitors, only 3,500 are French. For them the island is worth it: there is no direct flight from Paris and only two tour operators offer it as a destination.
