CORONAVIRUS: SOLIDARITY IN SAINT-DENIS | JT 19.45 | M6

In the Saussaie housing project in Saint-Denis in France’s 93 department, young residents are rolling up their sleeves to assist those people who are the most isolated and insecure during the lockdown. They are students, temp workers or unemployed and they’ve joined up with volunteers from the “Petite Liberté” association. Every day they deliver meals to 200 people, essentially the aged or single mothers, but also to those who now have no resources following the lockdown: those who work in the black economy. Deliveries in the morning, restocking and collecting supplies from donor stores or companies in the afternoon… solidarity weaves its bond through the daily round.
