BUSINESS PARK BEACH HYPERMARKET: IN THE HEAT OF THE SUMMER RUSH | M6 | Zone Interdite

Checkout staff on roller-skates, demonstrations and special offers in every direction, the summer is the season you can’t afford to fail for the imposing hypermarket at Ollioules in the Var.  The population of this commune between Sanary and La Seyne sur Mer doubles with the influx of tourists, mainly families who come to experience the joys of camping and the beaches. Pressure is at its highest for this 11,000m² hypermarket and its retail mall of some fifty stores: in barely two months, almost half of their annual turnover is in the balance! Ophélie Meunier and the crews from Zone Interditeaccompanied the men and women who are working hard… while others take it easy on the nearby beaches. Head of this giant store for the last two years is Jeanne, one of the youngest hypermarket managers in France. Aged only 29, she directs a staff of 450 with an iron hand in a velvet glove. From six in the morning, she’s present on every front. However, this year, the tourists are less abundant than expected, so with special offers and sales promotions, Jeanne and her teams have to redouble their efforts to attract customers! But Jeanne’s youth and temperament don’t sit easily with some to the employees. In particular with the head pastry chef, who finds it hard to obey the orders of his young boss. At the manager’s side, is an army of colleagues: fishmongers, butchers, demonstrators, etc. But also security staff, on watch both in the aisles and behind the CCTV cameras. Because, in summer, thefts from displays rocket. In the mall, another person is under pressure: Denise. Aged 48, this executive with a large company dropped everything to open a “trendy” café. She’s run up debts of €330,000 and dragged her whole family into the adventure. However, Denise lacks experience and will have to learn fast. She’s taken a big risk because her place does not enjoy the best location in the mall. So, Denise will outdo herself with the help of her children, who have a tough summer ahead! A visit by the Toulon Rugby Club, big stars in the area, will give her a huge boost. But will it be enough to get her business off the ground?
