It’s a story out of the ordinary from which Chabrol might have made a film. In the Morbihan, the wife of a wealthy industrialist was killed by burglars. However, during the course of the investigation, the gendarmes discover that it is certainly a cover-up for murder. What’s worse is that the person who ordered the murder was none other than the victim’s stepdaughter. The motive: an estate valued at several tens of millions of Euros. A descent into the heart of this reconstituted family where the children have been fighting for years to recover part of the fortune amassed by the patriarch.
