Bagdad | M6 | Enquête Exclusive

In three years of war and with over 25,000 civilian dead, Baghdad has become the world capital of terrorism, a sanctuary for “crazy for Allah” globetrotters. American secret services estimated that around forty foreign “suicide candidates” arrived in Baghdad this summer, 20% of them Algerian. The result has been felt all summer: 34 civilians killed every day. Daily, acts of terror, attacks and executions are carried out all over the country. Horror reached a climax on July 15 when 24 children died in one explosion. The same week another suicide bomber broke all records, killing 75 civilians and wounding 113 others in one blast. He had parked his tanker truck in the Moussayeb market. After opening the tanker’s sluices he triggered his explosive belt.
