15 year-old Laureleen from the Pas-de-Calais disappeared mysteriously last Saturday. She had run away with a 48 year-old friend of her father, Christophe, with whom she was having an affair. It was Laureleen’s father, Sylvain, who alerted the gendarmes after receiving an alarming letter from Christophe: “Sorry, but your daughter’s dead and so am I. Well, it’s just a matter of time and cash, especially…” And yet the father had never suspected his high-school friend. Christophe, a truck driver, was crazy about music. That’s how he met Laureleen, three months earlier. He gave the teenager guitar lessons every weekend. Had he planned a suicide and dragged the young girl into the drama? When they enquire into Christophe’s personality, the investigators discover a fragile man. Separated from his wife because of a drug problem, he suffered regular relapses. Several months earlier his daughter decided to distance herself from her addict father. Christophe then threatened to commit suicide. An abduction and false imprisonment of a minor investigation was opened and a European arrest warrant issued for the man who was on the run with Laureleen. By talking to those close to them, to the family and friends, we try to understand the reasons that drove Laureleen to follow Christophe on his morbid escapade.
