ADVENTURE, FREEDOM, ESCAPE: SUMMER SILLINESS IN A CAMPING CAR | M6 | Zone Interdite

Freedom at the wheel, taking your house with you and stopping to sleep in the heart of the countryside: that’s the choice of thousands of French people every year as they rent or buy a camping car for their holidays. King-size beds, multi-jet massaging showers, high-tech kitchen, leather and exotic wood interior and the latest generation of dashboard: nothing is too good for these palaces on wheels. This summer, to celebrate his fortieth birthday, Frédéric has decided to realise a childhood dream. With wife Caroline and their two children they are heading out to win the American West. In three weeks, this family from the Nord region will cover 2,500 kilometres in a camping car! A 7 metre-long monster that Frédéric will sometimes find hard to handle: this is the first time he’s ever driven anything like this! From the breathtaking landscapes of Monument Valley to the cliffs of Zion Park, by way of the rodeos of Bryce Canyon, Frédéric and his family will experience an unforgettable trip into wildest America! Akim, Nicolas and Bobby are all students and all broke! For their summer holidays along the Atlantic coast roads they have rented a mini-van, with sparse comforts. For seven days they will eat, sleep and wash in an 82m space?all three of them! Their budget, €1,200 for all three, for the whole week. It’s a holiday they intend to be about freedom and fun! However, what with renting surfboards, evenings in the nightclubs and their everyday living expenses their savings will disappear in a few days. So in order to continue their holiday they’re prepared to do anything. Like get up on stage to perform a totally improvised comedy show! On the Mediterranean coast, it’s a different atmosphere. Gérard and Monique have come to spend their summer holidays on a campsite to the south of Perpignan for the last… 42 years! This is no holiday on the move, but a good old caravan that stays in the south all year round. For this couple of retired workers, who live in the Paris suburbs, the two-month summer holiday provides the opportunity to meet up with their campsite friends and they make the most of it! Miss Campsite competitions, cocktails, fishing and parties late into the night: their holidays promise to be ball!
