Adoption : the Roumanian network | M6 | Zone Interdite
Eric and Nathalie, 30 and 34 years old, give a last brushstroke to their old bedroom. It is going to be the room of the little Romanian, Léa, whom they are going to go get in a few days in Bistrita, an orphanage in the north of the country. As is happening more and more in France, this young couple has chosen to go to a foreign country because the adoption procedures are quicker there. But these international adoptions have a price. In Romania, an adoption costs between 4500 and 23000 euros ($4000 to around $20,000).In a market where demand creates the offer, the associations have good business charging the highest price to parents prepared to pay to have a child quickly. A completely legal business but which has dubious moral consequences.
