The Great Seb Sell-Off | M6 | 66 minutes

The world leader in small home appliances is bracing for a stampede at its huge clearance sale. It’s expected to be even bigger than last year’s, when 15,000 shoppers descended on a drab warehouse in Selongey, the birthplace of the Seb group.

This time, 70,000 Seb pressure cookers, Moulinex fryers, Rowenta wet-dry vacuums, Krups coffee makers and Tefal pan sets, all marked down by 50% or even 70%, are taking over the Dijon exhibition center.

Since 1981, this is how the French group, which owns some forty brands, has cleared out all its unsold stock, discontinued lines and slightly damaged appliances. People come from up to 200 km away to kit out their kitchens on the cheap, and some wait all year for the chance to stock up.

For this 45th edition, there will even be a refurbished section, with second-hand appliances restored as good as new in one of the group’s factories: the cheapest of the cheap. Seb is good. Seb on sale is even better.
