VIRTUAL ASSIGNATION FOR A FATAL TRAP | M6 | 66 minutes

It’s one of the most violent murders the Charente has seen in recent decades. On April 26, the body of Gérald Matifas, a divorced father, was found in a wood at Courcerac, near Cognac. His mutilated body was unrecognisable, battered and bruised by hours of torture. He was shortly to come into an inheritance. Today, three people are in custody for “murder with torture and acts of barbarity”. What are the profiles of these killers? What connections do they have with Gérald? Why such a frenzy of violence? The main suspect, Cathy Bichon, 38, has the reputation of being a man-eater. She met Gérald on a dating site. On April 8, Gérald decided to meet her at her place in Cognac, a 2-hour drive from him. He never realized this would be his last trip. In the house in the middle of Cognac, waiting alongside Cathy Bichon, are her companion, David Klein, and a friend, Philippe Laroche. Was Cathy Bichon the bait to get their hands on the inheritance? Gérald was to suffer the most horrendous of tortures: sexual abuse, amputations, humiliation… An investigation into the last days of a murdered man.
