Vacations under strict surveillance | TF1 | Le Droit de savoir

The gendarmes of the Grande Motte (in the south of France) are three times as numerous during the two months of summer than the rest of the year in order to protect the tourists-the city has a population of 20,000 inhabitants in the winter but in summer this increases to more than 100,000. The gendarmes do their “biggest business”, as they like to say, between July 15 to August 15. Petty to serious crimes: theft from a vehicle, theft with assault and rape are the most frequent crimes the police must deal with during this period.
