How can one explain such an increase when sex education and prevention classes are common in schools? Paradoxically, adolescent girls remain very ill-informed: they think that condoms are optional or that the morning-after pill works every time. Many are convinced that the first sexual relations cannot result in a pregnancy. How do these young girls, barely out of childhood, cope with the painful experience of a voluntary abortion?
