On December 13 2011, the body of 64-year-old Michèle Laforge, manager of a pet accessories store, is discovered by her husband in their Paris apartment. Her semi-naked body is underwater in her bathtub with a hairdryer in her hand. So did Hervé Laforge’s wife commit suicide? The staging seems designed to make one think so. However, investigators are puzzled because the autopsy reveals that Michèle Laforge died of drowning and not of electrocution. What’s more, traces of blood are found on a candlestick, in the hall of the apartment and on the floor of the corridor leading to the bathroom, proof that the victim was dragged along. These elements lead them to believe that perhaps Michèle Laforge was the victim of a killer. Especially as the victim’s jewelry has disappeared! As often in criminal cases, suspicion falls on those who are close. And it’s the maid who is the focus of attention. On the day of the crime, she was in the apartment, alone with her employer…
