The Lejard Case: a fatal fortune | Enquêtes criminelles | W9

Rognonas, in the vicinity of Avignon. November 24 2010. It is 6:30am and Stéphane Lejard, 48, is about to leave his property. However, at the moment he gets out of his vehicle to open the gate, the man crumples to the ground. Moments later his family discover him lying in a pool of blood. He is no longer breathing. They immediately call the gendarmes. The Marseille criminal investigation department takes charge of the case. According to early indications, Stéphane Lejard was killed by a bullet to the head. No other clues. The killer clearly lay in wait for his prey and shot him down with a single shot: the work of an experienced gunman. For the investigators, this is the mark of a hired gun. Who could have taken out such a contract? Stéphane Lejard is a man who succeeds in everything. A carpenter by trade, he managed to build a company that brings in a lot of money. A fortune that attracts greedy eyes and arouses jealousy, especially that of his wife, Roselyne. Because, according to close friends, Stéphane wanted a divorce so as to live with his mistress, but he could never come to an agreement with his wife over how their wealth was to be shared. Did Roselyne Lejard want to have it all? The avenue of a family conspiracy opens up, especially as the presumed gunman is a friend of Arnaud, Roselyne’s own son…
