THE HIDDEN OF VINCENNES WOOD | M6 | 66 minutes

They are an invisible population living in the heart of Vincennes wood. Their names are Nathalie, Gary or Prince. Each has a story to tell. A life “before the woods”, as they say. Before falling into precariousness… Jah Prince is a former Franco-Ivorian reggae singer. He used to sell out stadiums and concert halls in Paris, but now his only companion is a simple guitar. In his tent, he recounts his downfall and his years of music, which may not be totally over… Not far from his tent, Sylvie, 40, dreams of being a hairdresser. She’s been living in the woods for ten years, facing the difficulties of everyday life. How does she survive? What are her relationships with other homeless people? Often, everyone lives in their own corner, trying to cope. This is the observation of Emmaüs social workers, who organize a marauding service every week. Gary, 26, looks forward to this weekly visit. It’s one of his only links with the outside world. Five years ago, following an argument with his parents, he left home. And everything fell apart. The Bois de Vincennes became the only refuge for him and his dog Nala. Like them, 140 homeless people now live in the Vincennes wood.
