The Footstep of the Killer | Enquêtes criminelles | W9
It’s October 11 2005 in Chazay d’Azergues in the Beaujolais and it’s 5pm. Eric Boisserance, a medical visitor, returns home. He calls to his daughter, Marine, but she doesn’t answer. The TV is on. Eric goes into the living room and suddenly, next to the couch, he discovers the lifeless body of his 20 year-old daughter lying in a pool of blood. She has been killed by several stab wounds. The gendarmes can find no sign of a break-in at the scene of the crime. So the robbery angle is excluded. The only clue investigators find is a footprint, size 43, found near the body. Who could have wanted to harm this serious, cheerful student, popular with everybody? A prowler? Someone close? A former boyfriend? Examination of the final call made from Marine’s cell phone provides an initial response. We hear a man’s voice shouting, “What are you doing? Come here! Where are you going?” And then nothing. The investigation has only just begun, but it will be full of twists and turns.
