THE FLOURY AFFAIR: THE VICTIM NEVER SAW IT COMING | Enquêtes criminelles | W9

It’s September 24 2011, in La Gacilly in the Morbihan. It’s 10:30PM when Lionel Floury, 43, sets out from home to rescue his wife, Muriel, 38, mother of their 7 children. Muriel has just had a flat tire on a small, country road. Arrived on the scene and working on the repair, Lionel is attacked by a man, who comes out of nowhere. He is hit on the head with an iron bar, and then stabbed seven times, two thrusts hitting vital organs. Lionel is seriously wounded, but he still manages to drive off his attacker who flees into the night. Taken to hospital, it takes Lionel several months to recover from his serious wounds. An investigation is opened immediately by the gendarmes, who quickly discover that a year earlier, Lionel’s business vehicle had twice been sabotaged without his ever discovering the culprit. Who could have a grudge against a fine family man with a very comfortable income? For six months, the investigation makes no progress… The case might well have rested there, if, in January 2012, Lionel’s health had not suddenly take a turn for the worse. He is unable to communicate coherently. He cannot walk or feed himself unaided and is committed to a psychiatric hospital. Tests show the presence of psychotropic substances at levels 17 times normal. There can be no doubt: Lionel was poisoned! 4 murder attempts on one man! The investigators don’t take long to find out who was behind them…
