Her mother had no choice: overwhelmed by the behaviour of her daughter, who was expelled from school at age 10, she had to put her into an ITEP?A Therapeutic, Educational and Pedagogical Institute?of which there are 430 in France. Like Manon, the children are between 7 and 14 and already schools don’t want them anymore. The reason: their behaviour, judged to be incompatible with life in society. In this institution, where they are 10 in a class, with the help of teachers, specialist educationalists and psychologists, they will learn to calm their rage, to confront their frustrations within a disciplined environment that these children have never experienced.
