The Case of Aurélie Fouché: Murder on the Farm | Enquêtes criminelles | W9

It’s Saturday, June 18 2011, in Cagnes-sur-Mer in the Alpes-Maritime Department. The whole town is living in fear because a young waitress at JAM’S, a town center bar, has been missing for a week. Her name is Aurélie Fouché, aged 21. Her family is going insane with worry and don’t know what to say to 17-month-old Hugo, Aurélie’s baby, when he asks where Mummy has gone. A search is organized on Facebook. A friend creates a profile: “Aurélie Fouché has disappeared; have you seen her?” However, nobody knows that it is already too late! The body of Aurélie Fouché is found on the farm of her ex-partner and father of her child: Eric Corniglion, a 24-year-old market gardener. Aurélie’s throat had been cut and her body covered in quick lime before being buried in a garbage pit. Eric Corniglion appears the perfect suspect: he’s a jealous and violent man, who could never accept the idea that Aurélie had broken off with him. The only drawback is that the farmer claims he had nothing to do with the murder of his ex-partner and he may hold the key to this criminal puzzle. According to him, shortly after the disappearance of his son’s mother, he received a call: he says Aurélie sent him an SOS; she seemed to be scared as if in the grip of a kidnapper. However, a bizarre twist throws everything into question! Eric Corniglion’s sister, Marie-Christine, had an ominous dream.
