Florent Goncalves should have been suspicious of the seductive Emma, 22, one of the inmates of the detention centre for women in Versailles, of which he was governor.  The young woman was serving a nine-year term for acting as “bait” for Ilan Halimi, the 23 year-old who was murdered in 2006 by the “Barbarians Gang”.  This time she was said to have worked her charms on the head of the penitentiary where she was imprisoned. In return for favours, Emma is said to have obtained from 41 year-old Florent Goncalves numerous privileges to improve her conditions in detention: parcels, money, telephone cards and SIM cards.  However, their relationship, which lasted for more than a year, created jealousy among some other inmates, who exposed the affair. Last January, the governor, who admitted he “fell in love”, was taken into custody and suspended from duty. How was this official seduced by the young detainee? We met the friends and acquaintances of the two protagonists in this unusual story.
