Teenage cocaine alert | M6 | 66 minutes
At the age of 17, Lola has already been a cocaine addict for two years. And she is not the only one : you meet more and more teenagers hooked on the white powder, because its price has dropped to one third. It’s a phenomenon that has exploded over the last few months. Formerly a chic accessory in trendy circles, the hard drug has now invaded the yards of high schools and even junior high schools. You can easily buy it at the school gates and the young talk about it openly, as they would about beer or cigarettes. This alarming commonplace use is confirmation of the new trend among the very young for seeking highs. Teenage discontent has always existed, but now it expresses itself in a much more self-destructive way. After the binge drinking fashion?the rapid consumption of a large quantity of alcohol?teenagers are mixing everything : in the course of one evening they drink, they smoke and they sniff. We met young people caught in the cocaine trap and the illusory sense of superiority that it brings. Can parents detect and prevent cocaine consumption by their children? Who are the dealers, who are often the same age as their customers ? How do the post-cure centres treat the addicts, who are sometimes no older than 15 or 16 ?
