Puy du Fou: the secrets of France’s favorite theme park | M6 | Zone Interdite

After more than 38 years in existence, the Puy du Fou is now France’s favorite show. Last year, in only 6 months, nearly two million visitors came to enjoy the incredible shows that bring together more than 1400 extras every weekend! And yet here there are no sensational rides or 3D images, just actors in period costume telling the story of a people: the Vendeans, through the history of France, from the Roman Empire to the 1914 War! Over the years, the Puy du Fou has recreated a completely astonishing historical universe in the very heart of the Vendee: circus arenas worthy of the Roman Empire, a medieval castle, Viking boats as large as life. From rehearsals to the opening of the Great Park and the first cinescenario” of the season, Zone Interdite filmed up close to the seasonal actors, professional or volunteer (more than 2500 characters), to reveal the unique passion that drives them and to share with them the extraordinary technological and human challenges that have made the Puy du Fou famous. A documentary filled with breathtaking images thanks to a traveling camera fixed to Tarik, the star vulture of the ghost birds show, as he flies amidst 180 large flying creatures. A look behind the scenes at the show that is unique in the world.”
