Porto Vecchio: the crazy week of a superstore | M6 | 66 minutes
Porto Vecchio, the day before the weekend of August 15, and Steve Enginger, assistant manager of the biggest superstore in the region is under pressure. It’s the busiest week of the summer. In a few minutes he will be raising the shutters behind which 200 customers are already waiting with their trolleys. But behind the scenes nothing is ready. The fish stall is empty, the seasonal workers haven’t shown up, the school supplies department for the new academic year hasn’t been set up. In a few minutes, he will have to provide solutions even if it means stacking the empty shelves himself, training check-out staff on the run and spying on the competition to find out what prices they are charging. And all the while, along with his teams, monitoring the dress codes of the customers or spotting the pickpockets in short skirts. A spotlight on the temple of consumerism in Corsica.
