The “people” press was never as well sold in France. The new titles flower in the kiosks: the born last, Closer (“nearer » in English) made a misfortune. A newspaper which is added to the existing titles : »Voici”, »Gala”, “Public”, “Point de vue” and, in a a little different kind, “Paris Match” and “VSD”. On the whole, nearly 4 million specimens of magazines “people” is sold each week in France. Why such a success? Which are the stories which make sell? How much are the stereotypes bought? How do the paparazzi work? Do they carry reached to the private life? Don’t the stars play a double-play by attacking certain newspapers and by selling their image in others? Are the French laws, most restrictive of the world, they liberticides?
