Like 280,000 others every year in France Claire and Maurice have got married. But unlike the others, they got married their way. They paid for the wedding and attendant costs by themselves and both their families had little say in the matter. Maurice might have proposed in the time-honoured manner, but he left it to Claire to organise the entire wedding itself. To make it a perfect day, Claire decided to enlist the help of a wedding organiser, a common practice in the United States, and one that is increasingly gaining ground in France. It might cost more, but the wedding planner is there to both reassure the happy couple and to ensure everything runs smoothly for the event of their lifetime.
