The current maharajah has converted most of his properties into luxury hotels. This heir to a long line of wealth has a rival in a French entrepreneur, who is buying up luxury homes. The capital of Rajasthan is also attracting fashion and jewellery designers, who have hit upon the ideal equation between craftsmanship and low prices.
