Late in the day on Wednesday, August 27, Christelle Mourlon, 24, and Cédric Banjeux, 31, arrive at the police station in Chénérailles to report the abduction of their son, Loan, a four-month-old baby. The couple explains that a little earlier they had gone to a leisure complex a few kilometers from their home. They say they placed the baby in his basket close to the car and then went to play boules a short distance away. That was when a stranger burst out of the forest and ran away with the child… and, bizarrely, his parents, although young and in good health, were unable to run after the kidnapper.
