Patrick is thirty-two and schizophrenic. He’s already been hospitalized six times. During times of crisis, he’s capable of extremely violent behavior. Magali, 22,suffers from visual and auditory hallucinations. This young woman lives in constant anxiety and fear of contact with others. She had to quit school in eight grade. Her daily routine consists of a host of rituals designed to reassure her. In Bordeaux hospital we also discover one of the few departments in France specializing in psychiatric emergencies. 7,800 patients use it every year. The procession is endless because, in psychiatric care, the number of beds is increasingly diminishing and the period of hospitalization getting shorter and shorter.
