Investigation into private crèches | France 2 | Envoyé Spécial

A child forgotten last May in a crèche in the Paris area, undercover crèches closed down in Marseilles… What is happening to our crèches? There is a shortage of between 300,000 and 500,000 places for children under 3 in France. In the face of such need, more and more private crèches are opening. They are now responsible for one out of every two new places. Following the example of the school canteens, local authorities are farming out the service to private companies. So do these crèches offer the same guarantees to the very young as the public services? Strict cost control, frequent changes of staff: does the drive for profit work to the detriment of the quality of care for the children? An investigation into the new market in private crèches.
