Into the hear of the republic – Behind the powership | M6 | Zone Interdite
Quai d’Orsay, Palais Bourbon, Ministry of the Interior: how the ministers, the diplomats, the deputies, their collaborators do live in these very protected places? At the Quai d’Orsay, we filmed the work carried on for the release of Christian Chesnot and George Malbrunot. We lived as close as possible their first hours of freedom. Exclusive images. We also filmed, day after day, the work of the emergency comittee in charge of the phone calls, following the tsunami wich devastated South-East Asia. The French National Assembly, emblem of the French democracy, is also a closed world, whose Jean-Louis Debré opens the doors to us. We followed him where the cameras seldom go, in the sacred area: from the seat of the president, in the hemicycle, to the living rooms, to the kitchens where are concoted ceremonial dinners. We followed, live, the movements of the Gaymard affair … The Ministry of the Interior is one of the most secret and best guarded places in France. What does it really happen there? To carry out this report, our cameras plunged, for 6 months, into the heart of the palaces of the Republic.
