In the Vet’s ER | M6 | 66 minutes

In France one out of two homes has a family pet. With 61 million cats, dogs, turtles and rabbits, France holds the European record. To care for our faithful friends, ultra-modern, super-equipped clinics have sprung up: sanitized operating rooms, scanners, etc.… just like in clinics for humans. And pet owners are liable to spend fortunes to save those that they look upon as a member of the family. Their attachment sometimes reaches the point where terrible dilemmas must be faced: do you have your pet put down or spend nearly 10,000 Euros to save your horse, perhaps? In the countryside the question of money is dealt with differently. Cows are a farmer’s bread and butter. And Marie, the young vet, must take this notion of profitability into account when she makes a decision. But whatever might happen to the animal, Marie sweats blood and tears to help a cow give birth. Being a vet… a profession that’s physical, intense and full of emotion.
