How can you raise your children when living on the breadline? | M6 | Zone Interdite
They life in the trashcan area, a hovel, a caravan or even in a car. These are not the usual type of homeless people: these are families, with young children. They live from odd jobs, allowances, making do. They are not outside the system, but they live below the poverty line. With an income of less than €910 per month, 8 million (that is 500,000 more than 10 years ago) live their daily lives on the breadline. Many are pushed from one lodging to another, with no guarantee of finding a real home and staying there. How can you survive when your income isn’t enough to live on and you don’t have the money to pay the rent? How do you raise your children in such a situation? How do you avoid eviction? We follow some French families who refuse to give up, despite their shameful living conditions.
