FAMILY DRAMA : SUICIDE ON CREDIT | M6 | 66 minutes

“It went wrong. We should all have died”. On August 19 2002, Emmanuel Cartier and his wife, Patricia, tried to kill their five children. They then tried to commit suicide. But the insulin dose they injected them with was too small. The children survived, with the exception of Alicia, 11. A tragedy brought about by huge debts? That’s what the Cartier couple claim in their defense, as they appeal this week in the Amiens courts. Hi-fi, car, house… they bought everything on credit and ran up debts of €150,000. For Patricia, this trial is the chance to finally see her children again and try to explain her actions.
