Elite investigators : 6 months with the crime squad | M6 | Zone Interdite

La Crim’ as they call the mythical criminal brigade at 36, quai des Orfèvres in Paris. Famous for its efficiency, 2 out of 3 cases are solved, it consists of a group of handpicked officers, always dressed in suit and tie. They are considered the aristocracy of the detective division. Experts in mysterious homicides, serial robberies and sensitive investigations, they leave nothing to chance. We followed them over 6 months. An old lady stabbed in broad daylight in a Paris street, a man thrown out of a 3rd floor window, a suspicious fire in a building, that’s the daily round of the super-sleuths of number 36. Their speciality: those difficult-to-crack cases. To hunt down killers they use their brains rather than their brawn: questions around the neighbourhood, hunting down images from surveillance cameras, telephone enquiries and crime scene analysis in ultramodern labs. Other specialities of the house are: wearing down a suspect by gentle psychological warfare to obtain a confession; time spent on a case, until the case is solved, the investigators continue looking. They don’t like crimes to go unpunished here.
